FAQs

What level should I register for?

Intermediate levels assume 5+ years of tap experience and are geared towards dancers who have a basic understanding of technique and rhythm.

Advanced classes require extensive knowledge of technique, rhythm/rhythmic concepts, musicality, and the ability to pick up choreography quickly, and are aimed at students with 10+ years of tap experience.

How do I pay?

Payment is made in cash or check on the day of the festival. Electronic payment can be made via Venmo to @Kate-Cavenagh

What should I bring?

Bring a water bottle, back up shoes/clothes, snacks, lunch/money*, a towel, a notebook/pen.
Water will be available for purchase ($1/bottle). Please do not plan to break in new shoes at the festival.
*There are lots of restaurants on Main Street that offer both sit down and express lunches

What should I expect in class?

We are offering a range of classes that will cover a variety of topics including technique, history, improvisation, rhythm and musicality concepts, and exercises/combos. Classes at the advanced level are fast paced and require the ability to pick up choreography quickly. You will be given a lot of information that you may want to write down in your notebook because you’re not going to remember it all at the end of the day.

Can I video class?

VIDEO IS NOT ALLOWED IN CLASS. If you would like to video please ASK THE INSTRUCTOR. Absolutely no video of class is permitted to be shared on social media without consent of the teacher and other students that may appear in the video. Personal video is acceptable unless prohibited by instructor (choreography copyright). Portions of classes will be videoed/photographed by the festival for social media purposes, and the appropriate wavier should be checked off with registration.
